What is TKNet ?
TKNet Corsican Radioamateur Network is a TCP/IP network for ham radio operators in Corsica. This is our APRS map, with aggregated tracking from various sources : APRS, LoRA APRS, meteo, ADS-B.
What is TrackDirect ?
This server is forked from APRS Track Direct software. Read more about Track Direct here or go directly to GitHub. In addition to a map with fast APRS data updates, APRS Track direct also provides related functions such as Latest heard and Station search etc... Thanks to Qvaforth for his great job.
What is APRS ?
APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) is a digital communications system that uses packet radio to send real time tactical information (on amateur radio frequencies). The APRS network is used by ham radio operators all over the world. Information shared over the APRS network is for example coordinates, altitude, speed, heading, text messages, alerts, announcements, bulletins and weather data. APRS has been developed by Bob Bruninga, callsign WB4APR. More information about APRS can be found at www.aprs.org or at wikipedia. The APRS specification is not only used by ham radio operators, but also for several other areas of use, such as e.g. for CWOP and OGN data.
What is TKNet APRS map server ?
This web server is an implementation of TrackDirect software. It displays classic APRS and LoRa-APRS data, but il also displays data from non-ham radio sources, such as ADS-B (airplane tracking) and AIS (ship tracking). Please note this additional data is kept local, and is not forwarded to the Wold-Wide APRS-IS network. This server only covers the island of Corsica and its sourroundings. Most of the data is gathered from our own radio receivers located all over the island. As far as the information displayed here is public, and can be obtained from various public sources, access to this server is public.

This web server, and the background aggregation code for ADS-B and AIS, have been designed by TK1BI, Santu OTTAVI. The web server is forked from TrackDirect. Map is drawn with Leaflet. Map data is provided by OpenStreetMap and contributors. Radio receivers of various technologies (APRS, LoRa-APRS, ADS-B, AIS, etc...) are deployed and maintained over the island by the TKNet Corsican radio amateur network team, and other volunteers.
